In addition to the adult culinary workshops that are offered at our local ShopRite, they are also offering Kids' Workshops! Sign up for fun times and fabulous food. The 2 hour hands-on workshops help teach kids culinary basics along with nutritional tips and safe food handling. Boys and girls age 8-15 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a unique way for Scout Troops to earn their appropriate badges! The classes are held from 5-7 p.m. on Fridays in the Meriden store. Upcoming dates are May 12 (Hawaiian Luau featuring Tiki vegetables and tofu skewers; coconut chicken bites with tropical dipping sauce; and Polynesian fruit salad) and June 2 (Very Berry Tea Party: Cucumber and Pink Peppercorn Cheese Tea Sandwiches; Chocolate Hazelnut, Strawberry and Raisin Stacks, Strawberry Tea Cookies and Fresh Berry Tea). The cost is $30 and it covers both the adult and child. Additional children may register for $15.
