The name behind the Hampton Inn Meriden's (a Hilton Family of Brands Hotel) Management Team: Interstate Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: IHR), one of the largest independent, third-party hotel management companies, operates 203 hospitality properties with more than 46,000 rooms in 36 states, the District of Columbia, and four countries. In addition, the company has contracts to manage 13 hospitality properties with 4,000 rooms under development.The company operates hotels for REITs, such as Equity Inns and Sunstone Hotel Investors, as well as other institutional real estate owners, non-institutional ownership groups, and privately held companies, such as the Blackstone Group.
While hotel management remains our core business, Interstate has embarked on a strategic growth plan that complements and supplements hotel management services with real estate ownership through joint ventures and wholly-owned hotels. Currently, Interstate has five wholly-owned hotels and has acquired joint venture interests in 18 properties.
