Lyman Claims National Championship, Earns a Spot on the U.S. National Junior Team Ohio State impresses at the 2014 USA Shooting National Championships

Lyman scored 1248.8 points, edging out representatives from West Virginia University and Alaska Fairbanks. The Meriden, Conn., native also performed well in the two other rifle events, placing seventh in junior men's 3-position and 11th in junior men's air rifle.

With his win, Lyman secured a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team. He will compete alongside the U.S. Junior Team at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Shooting Championships, scheduled for September in Grenada, Spain.

"A big congratulations to Remington on his national championship in junior men's prone," Ohio State head coach Ryan Tanoue said. "He had a fantastic two days of competition and performed extremely well in the finals. Earning a spot on the U.S. Junior National Team is a great accomplishment and will open doors for him to train and compete with many of the best shooters from around the country and the world."
