With the arrival of the new Candlewood Suites in Meriden, business travelers and visitors with planned long-term stays have another place to stay in the area. According to Sean Bahl, General Manager of the Meriden Candlewood Suites, the studio and one-bedroom suites include a stove, refrigerator, computer port, television, video cassette player and other features. The hotel also includes an exercise room and wash room, where patrons can use the washers and dryers at no charge. Because the Candlewood chain does not offer swimming pools, complementary breakfasts and dining rooms, rates are slightly lower than other long-term stay hotels. The opening also marks the return of Audrey Cipriano, director of sales, back to the Meriden area.
