City Receives $2 Million for jump start downtown revitalization!

June 13, 2011

City Receives $2 Million for jump start downtown revitalization! Meriden recently received a $2 Million state bond commitment for flood control infrastructure work required by the City's downtown Transit Oriented Development (TOD) project. The flood control work is a prerequisite to downtown development. The money will uncover parts of Harbor Brook, a stream that runs underneath downtown Meriden, and create storage areas needed to staunch flooding. "The $2 Million will allow the City to move our down town TOD project from the drawing board to the real world," City Manager Lawrence Kendzior said.
