MidState Medical Center has achieved a No.1 ranking in the state in a recent customer satisfaction survey for hospitals. MidState jumped to the first-place state spot for the first time last quarter and placed in the 99th percentile for the nation. This ranking puts MidState among the top 10 hospitals in the country of those surveyed, according to Gary Burke, continuous quality improvement facilitator for the Center. MidState is one of 17 hospitals in the state that participate in the Press Ganey Associates customer satisfaction survey, which 649 other hospitals in the country also use. Six years ago, MidState started its values program, concentrating on respect, caring and teamwork, offering employees half-day education programs. Recently, awards were given to employee of the year Jacqueline Dioses, second place to Cheryl Riley and third to Richard Seadale. Team of the year was recovery room and Surgicenter; second place was respiratory therapy and third to the family birthing center.
