Bernadette Herbert has been promoted to Director of Pharmacy and Nutrition at MidState Medical Center. In her new role, she will be responsible for daily operations, budget control, program development, and performance improvement. Bernadette was previously the Manager of Pharmacy and Nutrition at MidState. She is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Connecticut Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She is licensed in both Connecticut and Florida. Her article *Intravenous Calcium Supplementation* appeared in the publication, Pharmacy and Therapeutics in 1995. Bernadette has a B.S. in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and a Master*s in Healthcare Management from the Hartford Graduate Center.Ken Walker has been promoted to Director of Materials Management at MidState Medical Center. In his new role, he will oversee all functions of the warehouse, purchasing, receiving, distribution, and mailroom departments. Ken was previously the Manager of Materials Management. He is a member of the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Department in Trumbull, the Connecticut Firefighters Pipes and Drums, and sits as Chairperson for the Connecticut Materials Management Network. At MidState, Ken is a member of the Quality Improvement Council, Research and Development Committee, and the Emergency Preparedness Committee. Ken has a B.S. in Accounting and an M.B.A. from Sacred Heart University.
