Shannon Hill, his wife, Magail Cousins and their two-month-old son Skylar arrived in Meriden last Monday after losing everything they owned in the Hurricane. Brought to Meriden by resident Fran Cousins, they have been seeking resources and an apartment to help them get started again.

The United Way of Meriden and Wallingford matched them to the Webster Bank Contact Center who adopted the family and provided over $600 worth of contributions & gift cards. Bank employees also provided a crib, car seats, a stroller and many bags of baby supplies and clothes for everyone in the family.

The Hill family attended a breakfast at the Contact Center this morning to meet some of the many generous employees, and to receive more supplies. One woman at the Center even offered to help them with furniture and a car.

The Meriden Branch of the Salvation Army has helped the family find an apartment in town, and they are hoping that someone will donate a refrigerator and gas stove so they can move in.

For contact information for a story call Joe Baker at 235-4403.
