ESOP Celebration

Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) month is an opportunity for ESOP companies across the US to educate employee owners and the public about the tremendous benefits of employee stock ownership plans.

Some of the festivities at BL Companies included award ceremonies to honor outstanding employee owners, weekly trivia contests and donations to various local charities such as the Meriden Humane Society and New Haven Soup Kitchen. Employees also participated in a contest to create the official ESOP poster, which will be recognized at the ESOP Association annual meeting this spring.

The BL Companies ESOP enables employees to share in the ownership of the firm. It also provides long-term retirement benefits. The ESOP represents an expansion to the company's current retirement program, which already includes an optional 401(K) plan and a host of other significant benefits.
