Pyramid Time Systems Supports "Eat Local" with Farmer Joe's of Wallingford, holding a Farmer's Market for the community to enjoy MERIDEN, CT

This event was sponsored by Pyramid's Wellness Committee who chose August to increase awareness of eating locally. Reasons to eat local include supporting your local economy, promoting food safety (less chance of contamination when there are fewer processing steps), and of course, fresh food tastes better!Farmer Joes very generously donated a delicious gift basket with many of their amazing products for a raffle drawing that was held to support Pyramid's fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for 2013. Pyramid raised over $60.00 for the Cancer Society.

Pyramid employees also enjoyed samples of food made with local ingredients like eggplant with mint and feta cheese, zucchini bread, bruschetta and yogurt berry pie that was prepared by the Wellness Committee members. Recipes were included for all to enjoy and a copy of Farmer Joes cookbook is available for employees to check out as well.
