Meriden Public Library has announced recent staff promotions, according to Library Director Nancy Lauretano.

Meriden resident Michelle Baker has been appointed Public Service Coordinator, and will be in charge of the provision of circulation and information services, computer systems administration and building security. A veteran of 13 years of service as an information technology librarian, she replaces Roxanne Moreau who retired last year. Baker earned her master's degree in library science from Southern Connecticut State University.

Rebecca Starr, a veteran of 8 years of service as a reference librarian, has been appointed Collection Manager, with responsibilities in selecting and acquiring all library materials, both print and non-print. She replaces Nancy Lauretano, the library's previous collection manager. Starr previously worked as a budget analyst for the City of Meriden for 3 years. She earned her master's degree in library science from Southern Connecticut State University and her MBA in finance from the University of Hartford.

In the Information Department, reference librarians Karen Roesler and Elizabeth Devlin, formerly Librarian Is, were both promoted to Librarian II, with additional responsibilities in special projects and computer administration. Roesler earned her master's degree in library science from Long Island University, while Devlin earned hers from Southern Connecticut State University.
