The MHA dedicated the Community Towers community room to longtime tenant advocate Lucy Boutin. Ms. Boutin lived in Meriden for 51 years and in Community Towers since 1979, where she served as president of the Community Towers tenant association. Chief Executive Officer W. James Rice praised her efforts to secure the best of everything for the Towers. In 1993 Mayor Marinan appointed her to the MHS Board of Commissioners. Her outspoken and courageous actions often surprised her associates, but always served the best interests of her tenants.
