Two non-profit associations of Meriden are jointly sponsoring a benefit affair "A BRUSH WITH WINTER" at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville for the purpose of expanding art classes and programs for children at both locations as well as for adults and the general public at the Association/Gallery 53. The Arts & Crafts Association/Gallery 53 of Meriden and the YMCA are putting on a buffet/dinner, black tie optional, on February 11, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. with an ensemble of the Meriden Symphony Orchestra providing music, and several paintings on exhibit. Meriden's Nick Scalize is the featured artist - his '99 gouache painting is on the program cover, "Changing Light, Painting Friends.' TV personality Nancy Aborne will hostess the event. Lardis, Barcham, and Partners, Inc. created the program. Tickets will be available through Bruce Miller, Executive Director of the YMCA at (203) 235-6386 and you may call Traci DiPietro, Director of Gallery 53, at (203) 235-5347 for more information.
