For the third year in a row Forbes Magazine has named Cuno Incorporated among its top 200 small companies. The October 28 issue focused on companies with sales between $5 and $600 million, and were judged on stock price and five year return on equity and profitability. A new criterion was also added this year: relative stock price strength. "It's a prestigious third-party acknowledgment of the success and quality of Cuno as a company, and of its recent performance in a tough business environment," said Fred Flynn, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Cuno began in Meriden 90 years ago as a filtration and hydraulics company that manufactured parts and equipment, mainly for automobiles. Today the company designs, manufactures and markets devices that separate, clarify and purify liquids and gases.
