Naugatuck Savings Bank Foundation Awards Grant to Girls Incorporated of Southwestern CT

July 16, 2013

The Naugatuck Savings Bank Foundation has granted $2,500 to Girls Incorporated of Southwestern Connecticut to help all of the girls in its program fully participate at no extra cost in its Camp Explore Summer Camp's field trips, activities and special events. Girls Inc. provides programs just for girls ages 5-18, focusing on topics where in society or in the job market women tend to fall short like science, math and relevant technology, economic literacy, media literacy, and engineering.

"We are pleased to support Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut to help ensure all of the girls in its program can participate in its summer camp regardless of their family's ability to pay," said Charles Boulier III, Naugatuck Savings Bank President and CEO.

Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut was established in Waterbury in 1864 as the original Girls Club and inspires all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold. With close to one hundred fifty years of experience serving young women throughout southwestern Connecticut, Girls Inc. is the premier all-girl environment that guides young women through self-discovery with program-based curriculum. Girls Inc. of Southwestern CT is an affiliate of the national Girls Inc. headquarters in New York, NY, which to date has served over 900,000 girls.

"We are thankful for the Foundation's generous grant that will help us reach more girls and help them reach their full potential," said Donna Maglio, Girls Incorporated of Southwestern Connecticut Interim Executive Director.
