Ready, Set, Grow wants all Connecticut (and Meride ...

July 13, 2004

Ready, Set, Grow wants all Connecticut (and Meriden!) children to enter kindergarten healthy, eager to learn, and ready for school success; and we need YOU. We are looking for one adult "Friend of Connecticut's Young Children" for every child born in Connecticut this year. That means we need about 40,000 Friends!

Friends are adults who publicly support the goal of "all children ready" by adding their name to the growing online list of Friends. Ready, Set, Grow requires nothing more of its Friends than permission to use their names in public support of the public goal, and their names appear on this website. In order to keep Friends informed about the progress of the campaign, we provide periodic electronic and print updates.

Are you Ready to be a Friend? It's fast, it's easy, and it's FREE! Go to www.readysetgrowctkids.org to sign up. Here in Meriden we want 100 Friends - parents, elected officials, teachers, business owners, etc. - to sign up by the start of school! Already in three weeks more than 50 people have become 'Friends' - you can look at their names at the website. That puts Meriden in 3rd place of all CT towns and cities. That's good, but we can do better. After you've signed up, encourage someone you know to do the same. Thanks for taking a minute to help our young children succeed.
