The publishers of Connecticut Magazine designated ...

The publishers of Connecticut Magazine designated two of Brown & Welsh, P.C.'s lawyers as Super Lawyers for 2007. Thomas J. Welsh was recognized for his work in Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights,Business/Corporate, and Real Estate. He is a Fellow and a Regent of the American College of Commercial Finance Attorneys, a member of the American Law Institute, and a member of the Executive Board of the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys. Attorney Welsh is a coauthor of Connecticut Secured Transactions Under Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code Forms and Practice Manual (2002). He received a B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Connecticut. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for advanced study of Physics. He received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Houston Putnam Lowry was recognized for his work in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business Litigation and International law. He is a member of the United States' Secretary of State's Advisory Committee on Private International Law, the ALI, and the Executive Committee of the American Branch of the International Law Association, and was a member of the eCommerce Experts Committee for the Free Trade in the Americas negotiation. He is a Chartered Arbitrator who has arbitrated in excess of 100 domain name disputes. He received his B.A. from Pitzer College (a Claremont College), Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Gonzaga University Law School, and LL.M. With honors from the University of Cambridge, and was a visiting scholar at Yale Law School. Brown & Welsh has a national reputation in business law (domestic and international) and related litigation, arbitration and mediation, including contracts, Uniform Commercial Code (sale of goods, promissory notes, electronic transfer of funds, letters of credit and security interests), bankruptcy, and computer law (including domain name disputes and identity theft).
