Technical Skills Training Intiative This is a four year grant for training new employees in IT, advanced manufacturing and engineering positions. We will be hosting information sessions so you can learn about the program Call the Chamber for details today and to reserve your seat. For additional information please contact Paul Gagne at 203-867-4030 x219 or email pgagne@workforcealliance.biz StepUp - An initiative of the Connecticut Department of Labor and the five Workforce Investment Boards - Subsidized Training and Employment Program – $5 million per year for two years - Small Manufacturer Training Grant Program – $5 million per year for two years - Both programs apply to eligible “new hires” - Eligible small businesses can apply for one program for each new hire Contact Ann Harrison at (203) 624-1493 ext 267 or Aharrison.ctwbs@ct.gov for more information. Click link for additional contacts Workforce Innovations Fund Grant Grant will provide oversight and support to the designated community colleges to implement the I-BEST contextual training model. This model was pioneered in the state of Washington, and uses team teaching to address subject content and remedial education. It is being heralded as a novel way to address basic skills deficiencies. For additional information please contact Chris Reardon at 203-867-4030 or email creardon@workforcealliance.biz Veterans Support Services Grant This Grant will provide case management to support housing stability, education, job placement and support for veterans and their families. Also included are income support screening services, using Earn Benefits, transportation services, utility fee payment assistance, rental assistance, legal services and child care. Participants may be co-enrolled with other employment activities offered through the One stop Career Centers in the catchment areas.
