Canberra Industries has donated another $175,000 to the Meriden YMCA, bringing the total to $750,000. A division of Packard-BioScience Co., Canberra has assisted the YMCA in building its new facility since the 1980's. Emery Olcott, CEO, and George Serrano, President, began cooperating with the YMCA as evidence of their commitment to the community. Mr. Serrano praised Larry McGoldrick, President of Castle Bank & Trust Company, who served as chairman of the building committee. Bruce Miller, Executive Director of the YMCA, credited Mr. Serrano and Canberra for encouraging other corporations to assist in the rebuilding. Canberra also generously donated their human resources and time to the project. All participants speak proudly of the new facility.
