The Health Department joins MidState Medical Center to declare September as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The purpose is to increase awareness of prostate cancer issues and to stress the importance of early detection. Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer and second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the U.S. When detected in early stages, it can be effectively treated and cured. A screening event will be held on September 30th from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at 165 Miller Street. Please call 630-4235 to register. A second screening will be held on October 2nd from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at MidState Medical Center, Cancer Care Partnership, 435 Lewis Ave. Please call 630-5373 to register!
