As the new millennium opens, the Y.W.C.A of Meride ...

As the new millennium opens, the Y.W.C.A of Meriden has changed its name to the Women and Families Center and is now an independent organization. Their mission and charitable status continues as it has for the past 107 years. In announcing this change, discussion with volunteers, members, funders and community representatives indicated that there should be a more inclusive policy which brings men in as equal and voting members, thereby demonstrating partnership. This independence will allow the new organization to increase their role in the mainstream of the community. A kick-off for this will be held in the Fall.
