Nearly 50 women gathered at Horace C. Wilcox Technical High School for "tea and symposium." Speakers discussed the importance of obtaining education, making good choices, setting and following through on goals and breaking down stereotypes. State Comptroller Nancy Wyman said that achieving goals and fulfilling dreams is something she was very familiar with --- she succeeded in male-dominated professions and became the first woman comptroller. The day also taught students how to balance family and career by being clear about what you want and what you will be giving up, and things equal out.
