Several Volunteer Opportunities Available through United Way of Meriden - Wallingford at Local Agencies

November 21, 2011

We have several new volunteer opportunities for anyone interested.

The Salvation Army of Meriden is looking for volunteers to ring the bell at their Red Kettle donation stations. Volunteers can work this around their schedule and pick any block of time between Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm. This opportunity is available from now through December 24th.

The Beat the Street community Center is holding a coat drive on Saturday December 17th at Washington Middle School in Meriden. Volunteers are needed at 9am to help sort the donated coats and at 1pm to help with distribution.

The Meriden YMCA needs volunteers for a community dinner on both Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Set up starts around 10:30 and dinner is served at noon. They also need volunteers to deliver meals to the homebound.

We also have any agency that needs several rooms painted. If you have a group that wants to do this or will join a group to paint, please let me know.

If interested in any of these opportunities, please let me know and I will give you more information and the contact for the opportunity of your choice.

Happy Thanksgiving!
