Goal: $1,050,000; Pledges received to date: $ 301,065 or 29%; Compared to $210,000 at this time last year. Some campaigns are coming in higher and others are coming in lower. Many results are still outstanding as campaigns continue to run. Campaign results continue to come in throughout the Winter and into the Spring. Campaigns that have increased their giving this year include,

3M / CUNO, Inc.which increased their corporate and employee giving by 5% to 93,133.and Ulbrich Stainless Steels which has increased their corporate and employee giving by 7% to $55,469 and is not done yet! H. Pearce, Calcagni and other real estate firms raised funds for United Way through retail coin drives.

Needs continue to outstrip giving: Among the excellent programs that earn funding from United Way of Meriden and Wallingford, they needed about $250,000 above what we were able to fund last year. This year some campaigns have come in lower due to the Hurricane Katrina fundraising. So many community contributions are still needed, and United Way is still helping companies to run employee giving campaigns.
