BL Companies Honored for Excellence in "Employee Ownership" Communications

BL Companies has been selected by The ESOP Association as the winner of the "2010 Special Events & Promotions - Series of Events" Annual Award for Communications Excellence (AACE). The AACE Awards are sponsored each year by the Association to recognize the outstanding communications and educational programs of its members. The awards are presented each May at the Association's Annual Conference in Washington, DC to companies who have excelled in communicating the ESOP (employee stock ownership plan) and its meaning to the company's employees.BL Companies became an employee-owned company in 2006 with the establishment of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The way we work, individually and together, has the potential to enhance the value of BL Companies. Employee owners of BL Companies have the opportunity to be successful based on our own hard work and that of our colleagues. Every employee has a stake in what we do and how we do it! Naturally, that's reflected in our work as a company and with clients.
BL Companies Series of Events was our 2009 ESOP Month (October 2009) which was comprised of a variety of events & activities such as Trivia Contest, Happy Hour, Baby Picture Contest, Photo of the Day, Bingo, Halloween Week with cubicle decorating contest, ESOP Poster Contest, ESOP Month Passport and Employee Owner of the Month.
"We are pleased to be selected as a 2010 AACE Award winner by the ESOP Association," commented David Ball, President. "As employee owners, we strive to make our company stronger each day. Our ESOP Communications Committee works to communicate the ESOP concept to the employee owners and also the ESOP community at large."
AACE Award winners are chosen by a panel of five judges made up of both management and non-management employee owners, each of whom has demonstrated active experience and interest in the field of ESOPs and employee ownership communications. Awards are based on: overall quality and quantity of employee owner education, contributions of employee owners, integration of the ESOP into company culture, frequency of ownership communications, involvement and/or response of employee owners, encouragement of ownership attitudes, clear explanations, creative ideas, graphic design, and technical quality.
