Stanworth Nominated as CFO of the Year

Carolyn N. Stanworth, of Guilford, the chief financial officer at BL Companies, was recently nominated as the Hartford Business Journal's CFO of the Year. This distinction recognizes accomplishments of outstanding CFO's in the Greater Hartford region.Ms. Stanworth came to BL Companies in 1999 as chief financial officer. She joined BL after a 20-year progressive career at Southern New England Communications. Her last position at SNET was as the director of finance and planning for the information and entertainment division. She has considerable expertise in strategic planning, financial analysis, accounting operations, auditing and information technology. She has demonstrated leadership in motivating results-driven teams and directing the project management of large system implementations.
Ms. Stanworth earned a master's of business administration degree in accounting at the University of New Haven and a bachelor's of science degree in economics and computer science at Southern Connecticut State University. She also earned project management certification from Boston College.
