Mike Thadeo, manager of the shop at 900 East Main Street in Meriden, is excited about owning a franchise. Mike began working for Al Batista's family, owners of the franchises in Meriden and neighboring towns, while still a student at H.C. Wilcox Technical High School. After graduation, he decided to stay with the business and now attends Middlesex Community College with a major in business. Mike began working at Dunkin' Donuts at age 16 and progressed from sales clerk to shift leader, baker and manager. His day begins very early and his hours are long. Between 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., the shop services between 900 and 1,000 cars every day. What Mike likes most about his job is the Batista family, who are excellent people to work for in every respect. Employees are always reliable and customers are friendly. Mike also enjoys the flexibility to schedule his work hours around his college classes.
