William C. Piper of Meriden has been named Preside ...

William C. Piper of Meriden has been named President of Masonic Healthcare Center, Masonicare's skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Wallingford. He succeeds Arthur E. Santilli, who retired after 7 years with Masonicare and a 35-year career in healthcare. Stephen B. McPherson, President and CEO of Masonicare, made the announcement, Mr. Piper joined Masonic Healthcare Center in 1984. He has assumed increasing responsibilities during his tenure, most recently serving as Vice President for Administration. A licensed long-term care administrator, Mr. Piper is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University and is completing a master's degree in Health Administration at Quinnipiac University. As President, Mr. Piper oversees a 383-bed skilled nursing and sub-acute rehabilitation facility as well as two hospital-licensed units, two "over-55" independent living residences, and a residential care home. In making the announcement, Mr. McPherson praised Mr. Piper's dedication to Masonicare during his more than 20 years with the organization. "We are most fortunate to have someone with Bill's knowledge and expertise to lead Masonic Healthcare Center in the coming years. He has done an excellent job during his career here and brings tremendous experience and commitment to our mission." Mr. Piper and his wife, Susan, reside in Meriden with their three children.

Masonicare is Connecticut's leading not-for-profit provider of healthcare and retirement living for seniors. In addition to Masonic Healthcare Center, its affiliates include Ashlar Village in Wallingford, The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut, Connecticut VNA, Masonicare's statewide home care and hospice affiliate, and Ashlar of Newtown in Newtown.
