Margaret M. Steeves of West Hartford was recently named Vice President for Marketing at Wallingford-based Masonicare, the state's largest not-for-profit provider of senior-focused healthcare services and retirement living communities. Steeves will be responsible for the entire organization's corporate marketing, public relations and communications activities. The announcement was made by Stephen B. McPherson, Masonicare's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Steeves received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Saint Joseph College in Hartford and attended New York University for postgraduate work. Prior to joining Masonicare, Steeves was a Senior Vice President in Marketing Services for Webster Financial for close to seven years. She has also served as Director of Marketing for Yankee 24-NYCE, and was a senior account executive at Mintz & Hoke Advertising.

In announcing the appointment, McPherson said, "Masonicare provides a broad range of outstanding services and programs throughout the state, but new and creative ideas are needed to fully educate consumers about what we have to offer. With her many years of experience in the marketing and branding arena, Margaret's knowledge and expertise will be a tremendous asset in helping Masonicare reach that goal."

Steeves, who resides in West Hartford with her husband, Joseph Laffin, and their son, currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the United Way of the Capitol area. She recently completed a 4-year term as President of the Saint Joseph College Alumnae Association and Board of Trustees.

Masonicare's affiliates include Masonic Healthcare Center, Connecticut VNA, Ashlar Village, Ashlar of Newtown, and the Masonic Charity Foundation.
