The 14th Annual St. Francis Award Sports Banquet and Silent Auction to benefit the Franciscan Life Center, a counseling and education center lcoated in Meriden, Connecticut, will be held on Thursday, June 17, 1999 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, Connecticut. The Silent Auction of Sports Memorabilia begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and program will start at 6:30 p.m. This year's recipient of the St. Francis Award is Thomas S. Monaghan, Founder of Domino's Pizza and former owenr of the Detroit Tigers. Pat Calhoun, wife of Coach Jijm Calhoun, Head Basketball Coach of the University of Connecticut NCAA Champions, will receive the St. Clare Award. Area coaches will also be recognized. Al Terzi of Channel 3, and Tony Terzi of Fox 61, will emcee the event. Tickets are $50.00 a person and are available by calling the Franciscan Life Center at 203-237-8084. Seating is limited.
