Putting Connecticut back to work. That is the mot ...

October 30, 2000

Putting Connecticut back to work. That is the motto of a new program developed by Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford to get injured workers back to work. The Functional Independence Training (FIT) Program is a six-week residential program which culminates in release for work. It is a multi-disciplinary program which addresses participants' physical, functional, behavioral and employment needs. The mission of the FIT Program is to prepare participants to return to gainful employment. This increases their self-value, physical well-being and personal income while at the same time reducing the costs they represent to the employer, insurance companies and government in lost productivity and injury expense. For more information about the FIT Program, please contact Peter Larsen, Job Placement Administrator at Gaylord Hospital. He can be reached at 203-741-3336 or at plarsen@gaylord.org.
