SCL (Student Centered Learning) Presentation at Midstate Chamber Education Committee Meeting

January 29, 2018

The Meriden Public Schools transformed its newly renovated high schools into student-centered learning environments with the support of a Nellie Mae Education Foundation grant. Della Hughes, Senior Fellow, Center for Youth and Community, Heller School for Policy and Management at Brandies University guided the development of Meriden's Student-Centered Learning Logic Model which outlines the goals and strategies to ensure all students complete high school ready for college, career and civic life. Barbara Haeffner, Director of Curriculum and Instructional Technology, and Lois Lehman, Coordinator of Grants and Special Projects, shared insights from the district.

The Education Committee of the Midstate Chamber of Commerce provides school-to-career opportunities for students of all ages, educators and businesses. It also promotes business education and training partnerships in the area. The committee meets at 8:30 a.m. on the last Tuesday of the month. All members are welcome to attend.
