Meriden's Children First Initiative's new director ...

Meriden's Children First Initiative's new director, David Radcliffe, hopes to encourage parents to become more involved in their community and affect its impact on their children. This will result strong and desirable homes, schools and communities. Children First educates parents, increases childcare and services to benefit children up to age 8. Funds are provided by the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund from New Haven. Chairperson Geri Kogut states that the goal is to bring children to school already able to learn. Among the partners are the Board of Education, Meriden Head Start, CitySERVE! AmeriCorps, and the United Way of Meriden & Wallingford, The Parent Leadership Training Institute shows parents options in coping with problems in school and the community.
