Description: The number of opioid related deaths is on the rise, and drug-related deaths have surpassed motor vehicle accidents as the leading cause of accidental death in the United States. We're no stranger to this epidemic here in Connecticut, where deaths from heroin and narcotic painkillers happen daily. And we're fed up. Join us as we join forces with the national FED UP! Rally at this statewide walk/rally to raise addiction awareness. Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for sober living and increase access to the lifesaving drug Narcan, a prescription medication that blocks the effects of opioids and reverses an overdose.  Latino Winemakers - SCOW Benefit Wine Tasting

Description: Come out and enjoy wines from South America, Spain, and California to benefit the Spanish Community of Wallingford. A special feature will be a Pinot Noir wine from the small family-owned Renteria Winery which has been farming wine grapes in the Napa Valley since 1963 and began producing wines in 1997. The winery only produces small lots of vineyard-designed wines and specializes in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

 30th Annual Brian David Ash Memorial Prevention Fund Hot Dog Sale

Friday, September 9, 2016 through Sunday, September 11, 2016

Description: The Brian David Ash Memorial Fire Prevention Fund will be having its major fundraiser hot dog sale at Super Stop and Shop in Meriden. All the products will be donated enabling us to donate 100% of all proceeds.

In conjunction with the hot dog sale, we display a variety of free fire safety literature. A raffle with many different kinds of gift baskets, as well as many specialty advertising items, which are available without charge to attract attention to fire safety.

Contributions of any promotional products or items that may be incorporated in the display would be welcome. Cash donations are also always welcome. Donating companies will be acknowledged at the fundraiser and on this website.

The Brian David Ash Memorial Prevention Fund operates under the Meriden Foundation which is a tax-exempt, charitable trust managed by Webster Financial Advisors.

Description: As one of the newest committees affiliated with the Chamber, members of the Young Business Leaders come together to engage in community life and expand professional and social opportunities. This group is geared toward professionals between the ages of 21 and 39 however the young at heart are always welcome. All committee chairs and officers must be between the ages of 21-39. We welcome new members to serve as ambassadors for the Central Connecticut area.

YBL meetings are held twice per month, including a morning business meeting held at the Midstate Chamber of Commerce and an evening social meeting held at various restaurants throughout the local area. Each meeting poses the opportunity to meet new people and develop projects that enrich our community.
