 Meriden Historical Society Tag Sale

Saturday, August 08, 2015

Description: The Meriden Historical Society will hold a Tag Sale with a rain date of the Saturday following each originally scheduled date. The cost is a $15.00 ($10.00 for members) donation to the Society per set-up. Donations of items to the Society's Table, such as decorative items, collectibles, paintings, photos, jewelry or small household items in working condition, can be dropped off at the Society’s Research center on any Wednesday between 2:00 and 4:30 pm.

 Chamber Ambassadors - Membership Committee Meeting

Description: The Chamber Ambassadors are the Membership Committee. It is an organization of Chamber members who serve existing and new members of the Chamber.

The Ambassadors have traditionally had the role of retaining and increasing membership of the Chamber, and in recent years have been developing a network for welcoming new businesses to the area and thanking businesses that continue their membership on an annual basis.

The Ambassadors Membership Committee meets at 8:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.

 Chamber Hispanic Outreach Leaders in Action Meeting

- Share success stories of the group
- Encourage and mentor the youth by providing excellent Hispanic role models

 12th Annual Back-To-School Expo - Book Bag Drive

Description: The Meriden Firefighters Local 1148 proudly presents the 12th Annual Back-To-School Expo. The first 1,500 Meriden school children between Pre-K and 8th grade to register, will receive a FREE book bag filled with school supplies!!. (All children must be accompanied by an adult.)

Premier Sponsrs are Meriden Clergy Association and the Record-Journal.

A charitable, community-wide event that provides under-privileged children from grades Pre-K through 8th with the necessary school supplies to help them succeed and grow as students.

 Chamber Young Business Leaders Committee Meeting

Description: As one of the newest committees affiliated with the Chamber, members of the Young Business Leaders come together to engage in community life and expand professional and social opportunities. This group is geared toward professionals between the ages of 21 and 39 however the young at heart are always welcome. All committee chairs and officers must be between the ages of 21-39. We welcome new members to serve as ambassadors for the Central Connecticut area.

YBL meetings are held twice per month, including a morning business meeting held at the Midstate Chamber of Commerce and an evening social meeting held at various restaurants throughout the local area. Each meeting poses the opportunity to meet new people and develop projects that enrich our community.
