Description: ALL are welcome to join this committee that helps coordinate the annual Midstate Chamber golf tourney - the Ray Parmentier Classic - in its 29th year in 2016: SAVE THE DATE: Wed., June 8th!

The event is the main fundraiser for the Sanford S. Shorr Education Awards that are given annually to area students. To date, over $100,000 has been awarded to help our future leaders further their education.

 Connecticut Business Day

At Legislative Office Building (LOB)

Description: As a Connecticut business leader, you have clout at the Capitol. Exercise that influence at Connecticut Business Day at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, next to the State Capitol. Youíll have a chance to meet with our state lawmakers to help them understand and support legislative proposals for a more positive business climate. Connecticut Business Day is free of charge and supported by Connecticut chambers of commerce and other business and trade groups. Together, business leaders and legislators will address factors impacting Connecticutís ability to reach its great economic potential. Topics include, state fiscal policy, workplace and employment issues, transportation, regulatory burdens, and much more. Join us to make sure the voice of Connecticut business is heard at the state legislature.

Please note that we have made a couple of changes to this format. Registration will start at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 and run till about 12 noon. We will hold a brief informational session that will be followed by regional breakout meetings with your legislators. We have once again reserved extra rooms for these meetings. We are also looking into special parking arrangements.

The goal of this annual event is to bring businesspeople and legislators together to address issue of concern such as fiscal policy, labor issues, transportation, regulatory burdens, to name a few.

 Chamber Young Business Leaders Committee Meeting

Description: As one of the newest committees affiliated with the Chamber, members of the Young Business Leaders come together to engage in community life and expand professional and social opportunities. This group is geared toward professionals between the ages of 21 and 39 however the young at heart are always welcome. All committee chairs and officers must be between the ages of 21-39. We welcome new members to serve as ambassadors for the Central Connecticut area.

YBL meetings are held twice per month, including a morning business meeting held at the Midstate Chamber of Commerce and an evening social meeting held at various restaurants throughout the local area. Each meeting poses the opportunity to meet new people and develop projects that enrich our community.
