 Chamber Young Business Leaders Committee Meeting

Description: As one of the newest committees affiliated with the Chamber, members of the Young Business Leaders come together to engage in community life and expand professional and social opportunities. This group is geared toward professionals between the ages of 21 and 39 however the young at heart are always welcome. All committee chairs and officers must be between the ages of 21-39. We welcome new members to serve as ambassadors for the Central Connecticut area.

YBL meetings are held twice per month, including a morning business meeting held at the Midstate Chamber of Commerce and an evening social meeting held at various restaurants throughout the local area. Each meeting poses the opportunity to meet new people and develop projects that enrich our community.

For more information, contact the YBL chairman, Trey Bongiovanni, or any other member. We’ll be glad to answer any questions you have, and of course, tell you why you should become the newest member!

 48th Annual Meriden Puerto Rican Festival

At Hubbard Park

Description: Everyone is invited to attend the 48th Meriden Annual Puerto Rican Festival. The goal of this festival is to promote pride in the Puerto Rican culture, share this culture with the wider community and bring families together.

Last year's Puerto Rican Festival was an overwhelming success with over 6,000 attendees and a fun filled day for children and families. This year the festival promises to be even bigger with more attractions and offerings.

There will be live Latin entertainment providing Latin music including salsa and meringue. A cultural tent will feature displays of Puerto Rican food, art, information about famous Puerto Ricans, costumes, and more. There will also be activities for children, families and the elderly. Numerous food vendors will be on hand to provide a wide offering of Spanish food.

This event is FREE to all Meriden Families and residents from other towns are also encouraged to attend.

Vendor Application and Fees should be submitted no later than July 17, 2015.

 Gallery 53 Summer Camp Showcasing Drawing - Session 2

 Meriden YMCA & Meriden Rotary Club Surf & Turf Dinner & Kids' Picnic

Description: The Meriden YMCA and Meriden Rotary Club will hold their annual Surf & Turf Dinner following their Golf Tournament. Dinner includes: lobster, filet mignon, corn on the cob, potato, beer, wine, and frozen drinks.

Kids will have their own special picnic while you attend the Surf & Turf Dinner. Children will be supervised by YMCA child care staff. Kids will have fun playing in the bounce house, creating arts & crafts projects, and having their own picnic with hamburgs, hot dogs, chips and drinks. Cost for children is FREE.

 Meriden Historical Society Tag Sale

Description: The Meriden Historical Society will hold a Tag Sale with a rain date of the Saturday following each originally scheduled date. The cost is a $15.00 ($10.00 for members) donation to the Society per set-up. Donations of items to the Society's Table, such as decorative items, collectibles, paintings, photos, jewelry or small household items in working condition, can be dropped off at the Society’s Research center on any Wednesday between 2:00 and 4:30 pm.
