Castle Craig Players presents "Messiah on the Frigidaire"

Friday, April 25, 2014 through Sunday, April 27, 2014

Description: Messiah on the Frigidaire - The small town of Elroy, South Carolina is thrust into the evangelical spotlight, when what seems to be the image of Jesus appears on a refrigerator in a trailer park. The discovery by Lou Ann Hightower, her husband Dwayne, and her best friend Betsy, sets into motion a frenzy of conflict, communion and good old fashioned commerce. When the National Investigator turns the appearance into front page headlines, their trailer park becomes a mecca for miracle seekers, soul searchers and disciples with a decidedly political agenda. At the urging of the towns business leaders, Betsy pretends to get messages from the appliance-based apparition, and the crowds multiply like loaves and fishes. Through the ordeal, the three undergo an evolution in their relationships with each other, and they are forced to come to grips with their lowly status in the caste system of the rural south. In a region where religion is as much a part of life as grits and cotton fields, God surely moves in mysterious ways.

Rose Porto Goes on the Hunt for "Tormented Souls"

Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 6:30 PM
At Meriden Public Library

Description: Paranormal investigator Rose Porto will be discussing her new book "Tormented Souls". There is something strange in the neighborhood, paranormal activities that can be seen firsthand, and when a person ends up in a ghost story, it might be time to start believing in them. In her new book, Ms. Porto presents a collection of alleged close encounters with "Tormented Souls."

According to Porto, the most frightening ghost stories are not fiction; they are the true experiences some families must endure. Continuing her quest, this paranormal investigator lives her life hunting down ghosts, spirits, and demons while helping many families on the way find solutions and peace to their haunting.

"Tormented Souls" contains cases of purported paranormal activity; it also educates on how and why some of these ghostly phenomena occur. The author takes a look at different paranormal theories, entities, and how to protect oneself from unwanted, invisible, and sometimes, evil intruders. The book also covers some basic information on how to properly ghost hunt.

Rose Porto is a paranormal investigator/researcher, small-business owner and founder of T Spirit Investigators and Researchers. She lectures on the paranormal and teaches classes about the extraordinary world of the supernatural. She is also the author of "Mingling with Spirits- a paranormal awakening."
