 Wallingford Housing Authority Notice in English

Description: Effective Friday, January 8, 2016, the Wallingford Housing Authority (WHA) will open the zero (0) and one (1) bedroom wait list for its McKenna Court Elderly/Disabled housing program only. The closing date for both Waiting Lists will be Monday, March 14, 2016 at 3 p.m. Applicants may apply for one or both waiting lists but separate applications will be required. Following the closing date, each applicant’s Waiting List position will be determined by a lottery selection as set forth in the WHA’s tenant Selection Plan.

In the first session you will learn the basics - overview of office ribbon, quick access toolbar & Excel window, scrolling up & down, navigate & toggle, columns, row, cells, worksheets, format text, numbers, custom formats and more.

In the second session on Feb. 9th you will learn how to create formulas, formats to numbers, align, indent and rotate cell content, built-in cells, built-in tables, table style, helpful tips & shortcuts, make into a pdf file and more

 The Forgotten Chapters: My Journey Into The Past

Description: The Meriden Historical Society and the Meriden Public Library invite you to this special winter program. Enjoy a journey back in time to early colonial southern New England with author Katherine Dimancescu. Ms. Dimancescu's presentation will offer an engaging blend of history and ancestral stories as she brings to life long forgotten and little known chapters of New England’s rich history. Some of her maternal ancestors were among the founders of Hartford, Greenwich, and Stonington, Connecticut. Ms. Dimancescu will discuss the process of creating a non-fiction narrative about her ancestors to share with a general audience. She will also highlight resources, organizations, and publications which helped her discover her maternal ancestors in New England. One of her goals is to share genealogical ideas and tips with audience members which could allow them to learn more about their ancestors and the times they lived in.

Katherine Dimancescu is the author of The Forgotten Chapters: My Journey into the Past. This non-fiction narrative explores her maternal roots dating back to the Mayflower and ancestors who were veterans of the Pequot War, King Philip’s War, influential Puritan ministers, slave-owners in Connecticut, advocators for religious tolerance in the Colony of New Netherland, and some of the first persecuted Quakers in New England. Ms. Dimancescu is a Massachusetts based author and frequent contributor to historical and genealogical publications.
